Steps involved in Operation and getting started

 

1. Choose a region (or regions) where  there is regular inspection of the tracks, and the named data collection files  cover approximately the same track in the same direction  A run ~ 200 miles in length are what we are used to dealing with…Send us Raw Geometry Data and GPS data as it is delivered off the geometry car. For several ( 4 or 5) of such runs  .

 

2. We create static files:

 

a.A reference geometry file,( to align all others)  identical in format to those produced on the car.

 

b.A Special Track Map file , and a Master Milepost file.

 

c.If for some reason this task cannot be completed, we will give you a critique of what went wrong, and suggestions as to how to correct the issues. But otherwise there is no payment due or any other obligation.

 

 

3. We can generate and deliver the Data alignment algorithm, specific to your operations.
However, depending on your needs and personnel, it could be  cost effective for us to perform the geometry positioning. Send us the Data   and generally, “over night” , you will get a disk (Image)  with position aligned.  Cost would be a very small fraction of cost of a test. Data can be used in “Stock programs” as if it were the “original” data. It can also be used for much more

 

 


4. We
will maintain the  static files ( for instance if there is major track work) ,. Alternatively we can provide the software  and procedures for you to maintian the static files.
