Faults Typical with GPS

Signal is Blocked because of Foliage, Buildings, Urban and Natural Canyons

Jamming of GPS signal due high Energy Electromagnetic Sources , or from deliberate mischief

Multi-path Errors. Big error in position , generally temporary and generally blocked by Algorithm

Forgot to Warm up, initialize receiver before use

Antenna Damaged

Receiver Failed, or never turned on

Other Faults

Wheel Skips ( or equivalently data drops) ( our system catches it, and with aid of GPS quickly fixes the problem)

Physical Faults with the Tachometer (loose cable, etc) causing occasional large Data skips

Tachometer Improperly Calibrated , causing scale factors resulting in errors of 10’s or even hundreds of feet /mile ( not problem with this system)

Mileposts That are marked manually or by GPS are completely wrong , or missing because of inattention or Bad GPS or Both. (If GPS related estimation is reasonably good, marked mileposts except for the start milepost are generally ignored).
